with Big Al
Sundays 1:00AM to 5:00AM Eastern Time on WFDU HD1
Big Al has worked at WFDU for more than 30 years, playing a wide variety of independent releases (domestic and imported) from every genre in the new rotation, plus the occasional gem located deep within the dusty WFDU archives.
Al isn’t picky – he listens to all kinds of music and also enjoys his shortwave radio. He’s worked the overnight shift longer than anyone in the history of WFDU, meaning he has lots of stories. Al once heard an explosion one Sunday morning after his show and called the station manager because the studio lost power. It turned out that a squirrel went for a walk on the electrical lines and transformer. The charred remains of the squirrel were found near the radio station pathway.
Outside of the station, Al enjoys watching old movies and old television shows.
