Steve
Steve Nicholas was born and raised in Maywood, Bergen County NJ and attended and graduated from the Metropolitan (Teaneck) campus at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Class of 1983. He began his broadcasting career in 1979 at WFDU-AM, and did regular weekly shows through 1983, also serving as Business Manager from 1980-81 and its General Manager from 1981-1983.
After a rather long break, Steve proudly returned home to WFDU back in August of 2013 where he particularly enjoys playing the music of decades past, with emphasis on not just the music itself but the stories and trivia behind the songs and the artists. Music is truly a wonderful thing to bring back a special memory or remembrance. I always want to bring that passion and something extra to the listeners that you don’t hear or get anywhere else…..
Outside the station, Steve is a lifelong dedicated Brooklyn/New Jersey Nets fan, New York Mets and a New York Jets fan. He also enjoys watching old TV sitcoms and is an avid reader of biographies and historical accounts.
