Opie is the General Manager and Program Director of WFDU, bringing extensive media experience from the New York City market. Her background includes work with Q104, 92.3 K-Rock, Sirius Satellite Radio, Westwood One, X107, Z100 and WSOU, as well as a wide range of features, promos, and commercial production.
A lifelong fan of classic radio, Opie is passionate about sharing her love of this music with WFDU’s dedicated audience. As a devoted former listener of 101.1 WCBS-FM, she aims to create a station that honors the legacy of radio greats like Harry Harrison and Dandy Dan Daniel.
Outside the studio, Opie is an accomplished audio producer, plays both Bass Trombone and Flute, drives a stick shift, roots for the Jets, and has likely attended more legendary rock concerts than anyone you know. Music isn’t just part of her job, it’s a way of life!
