Anita Elaine Rivers
Anita Elaine Rivers --FDU Executive Director of Community Relations at Fairleigh Dickinson University was the quintessential non-traditional student—adult learner, single parent, first-generation college graduate. With over a 40-year professional career, Anita has serviced a diversity of traditional and non-traditional student groups. She now advocates corporate partnership opportunities for adults in higher education and serves to expand the FDU footprint in communities throughout New Jersey and beyond.
Currently, Anita is a board member with the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce, the Teaneck Chamber of Commerce, Bergen County Workforce Development and former board member of Bergen Volunteers and Hackensack Regional Chamber of Commerce. She is a community liaison with the Northern Council of New Jersey’s Boy Scouts of America as well as with the Hackensack Main Street Business Alliance. Anita is an active member of the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, the Fort Lee Chamber of Commerce as well as several business and non-profit organizations.
In addition to her administrative work at FDU, Anita is an Adjunct Professor and a doctoral student, pursuing her Ed. D in Higher Education. Most importantly, she is mother of Alana—a brave, new entrepreneur!
