Hi there! I'm a tru radio geek.
As a kid I always slept with a transistor radio under my pillow. Growing up in Teaneck (yes, I really did) and going to Bryant School and Ben Franklin Junior High I was sad that we would be moving to Fort Lee as I started high school. We did move and I was ok since I could still hear all the radio stations I loved like WABC and WMCA before getting acquainted with the FM dial and WOR-FM (later WXLO: 99X), WNEW-FM, CBS-FM and so many others. I loved (and still love) rock and roll especially from the late 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's.
After getting a Bachelor's degree and then a Master's from Rutgers my radio journey (after a very short stint in accounting) began at WNNJ up in Newton (in Sussex County), followed by a lengthy stay at WDHA, Dover and then on to NYC at WNEW-FM and K-Rock. At each stop I also had the opportunity to be the Program Director.
In 1993 I moved into the sports world as the Program Director at WFAN where I stayed for 28 1/2 years... while also given the opportunity to work with some of our company's music stations as well.
After retiring from WFAN I realized I still wanted to work so I'm now hosting (part-time) at the Boss (107.1) at the Jersey shore and at 94-7 The Drive in Washington, DC. (have family down there). I do all shows live and in person.
And now I'm thrilled to be a part of the volunteer air staff at 89.1 WFDU...Retro Radio... where I get to play some of the all-time best songs and try to hit "the post" when playing the songs.
My wife and I have been married for 47 years and have four kids and 10 grandkids that we see a lot even though most are no longer here in the NY Metro. After all these years, radio is still fun and I'm glad to still be working in the business I love.
