DJ Juano has been spinning records since the age of 13—yes, 13! Growing up in Hell's Kitchen, New York, just a few blocks from the iconic Studio 54, he was immersed in all kinds of music, which gave him the foundation he needed to pursue his passion for music.
He had the opportunity to spin at legendary NYC nightclubs like The Copacabana, Club Cheeta, Lansky Lounge, Latin Quarter, Webster Hall, and The Palladium, among others. This exposure put him in the perfect position for his next big career move—radio! “When I was discovered, I was just at the right place and the right time… but I was musically prepared!”
DJ Juano began his career at WCAA in NYC as a Mix DJ/Host before advancing to Program Director for stations in major markets like NYC, Miami, Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston, and L.A. He’s also had the privilege of working for some of the biggest broadcasting companies, including Univision Radio, iHeart Radio, CBS Radio, and SBS.
Today, his passion for Dance Music brings him to WFDU every Saturday night from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, where he spins the best Classic Dance Hits!
