Steve Nicholas

Born and raised in Bergen County NJ, attended and graduated from the Metropolitan (Teaneck) campus at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Class of 1983.

He is very pleased and honored to return home at WFDU-FM, where on “RetroRadio's Back In The Day” you can hear the wonderful classic pop music from those decades that the "other" oldies station doesn't play anymore.

You'll hear well produced, great songs from all artists:  famous, infamous, and forgotten, all interspersed with stories of whimsy, trivia, theme songs, commercials,  and pop culture. Reminisce, remember, and recall the past every Tuesday morning, at 9AM.

One of the things I enjoy the most is providing my listeners and audience that something extra – a forgotten tune, untold story, lost artist or special remembrance along with sharing the passion for the music and its beloved history. You never know what you may hear next.

Steve began his broadcasting career in 1979 at WFDU-AM, and did regular weekly shows through 1983, and served as the station’s business manager from 1980-1981 and its general manager from 1981- 1983.

Outside the station, Steve is a lifelong devoted New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets fan, avid reader of biographies, current events and historical accounts, and animal enthusiast, and enjoys walking his two Welsh Terriers, Drake and Julia.
